This tour gives a wonderful overview of Sa Pa, several picturesque minority villages, beautiful mountains and terraced rice paddies, and the amazing Bac Ha Market. You’ll have plenty of opportunity to take in the lovely scenery and to interact with the local people while learning about their traditional way of life.
You’ll be taken by our staff to the Ha Noi Railway Station at 20:00 PM and escorted to your train cabin. Then relax in your first class, air conditioned cabin (soft-sleeper, 4-berths with locking door). You’ll arrive in Lao Cai, near the Chinese border, early the next morning.
Trekking: 9-12 kilometers
Your guide and driver will meet you at the Lao Cai train station. Drive for one hour up the Hoang Lien Son Mountains until you arrive in Sa Pa. Enjoy the spectacular views of the mountains, valleys and terraced rice fields along the way.
After a short discovery of Sa Pa, we’ll trek to the nearby Black H’mong villages of Sa Seng and Hau Thao. You’ll have the opportunity to learn about their very traditional ways of life. We’ll continue our trek through beautiful mountains and terraced rice paddies until we arrive in the minority village of Giang Ta Chai. Tonight, enjoy dinner and sleep in a traditional stilt house
Trekking: 12-15 kilometers
After trekking through terraced rice paddies and along the lovely hills and mountains, we’ll return to Sa Pa. There will be time to explore the town, visit the colorful local market and sample the local cuisine.
This afternoon, we’ll hike to the Black H’mong villages of Sin Chai and O Qui Ho. We’ll take in the stunning scenery of rolling hills and terraced rice paddies of the region. We’ll take a leisurely walk around farmlands and villages before returning to Sa Pa. After dinner, you’ll stay overnight in a Sa Pa hotel.
Trekking: 4-6 kilometers
This morning, we’ll drive from Sa Pa to the town of Bac Ha. The Flower H’mong, Zay, Tay and Dao minority people come to Bac Ha for the large and colorful Sunday market, selling their traditional clothing, livestock, fruits, produce and jungle products.
We’ll take a scenic walk around some of the nearby villages, taking in the peaceful way of life. At last, it is time to return to the railway station in Lao Cai for the trip back to Ha Noi. Return to Ha Noi in your soft-sleeper 4-bed air-conditioned cabin, arriving around 5:30 AM the next day.
